Awesome 7-in-1

I love this product! It is very easy to use, and it makes listening to music/talking on the phone much easier in the car. The 'snake arm' adjusts to fit the power outlet in my car, and there is a tilt ability for the actual holder. This fits my iPhone 3G with a thick case on. It can also adjust smaller than that for a regular iPod. The sound quality is near perfect - you just have to turn up the radio a little higher than normal. The FM transmitter adjusts to any FM channel.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. This isn't a name brand product, but I would consider it comparable to one. I've been looking to buy one for a little while now, and have seen them going for $70 and up. This is a steal at $22! |
Great Transmitter for the iphone 3g

| Looked everywhere to get one for my girlfriends iphone 3g. Finally setteled for this one, and both her and I are happy with the purchase. It holds up her phone nice and sterdy, which was my biggest issue. Sound quality is great for a transmitter, you can tune it to any station. I personally own a AUX cord so it is not on the same level but for the price and not wanting to replace the deck in her 2004 CIVIC this is the best deal i could find for her. I would totally buy it again for her, plus it has a USB output so i can charge my phone. PS it doesnt even go into airplane mode when u plug the phone in. This is a GREAT DEAL FOR THE PRICE!!! |
Works fine on my iPhone 3GS (white) - 16 GB

The transmitter works. Yes, there is a bit of interference when in EDGE (really depends the state). I made a road trip and passed through a few states. Some states provide 3G in the middle of nowhere (excellent), other states are behind and provide EDGE or even GPRS (which REALLY sucks). EDGE produced interference on some. If working on 3G, it is ~100% reliable. The FM transmitter does not block my cell phone signal, as I read it on other reviews. Recommendations: If iPhone is plugged in, do not put the extra cable on top (3.5mm jack). If you have it unplugged, you may use the cable on top to transmit FM. If you are traveling, your cell phone will also lose and find new signals. During this, it will interfere with the speakers non stop (you will see a circle instead of E or 3G). At this point, I turned off the antenna (airplane mode), and used the iPod feature of my iPhone; this worked perfectly.
Yes, you can use Pandora and it will transmit in E or 3G, but again, some state's EDGE will interfere far most than others. Heck, even the movie (from iPod feature) transmits sound rather well. I also played video games using the car stereo (get a longer 3.5mm jack cable).
I used the frequency range 92.7-93.9 throughout my trip. It worked better than I expected.

Here's the deal... I got this item for 7 bucks from a seller. It arrived new in original package with simple to follow instructions. I plugged it up, plugged it in and it works. Easy enough. Drove around a bit, turned the car off... Waited a few minutes, restarted it, it worked. The sound quality was great for a $7 item.
Was I foolish enough to get this item and then expect it to be Bose quality in a 97 Toyota Camry with stock speakers? NO! All these people boohoo'ing because the sound quality isn't perfect need to get over it. I dunno how much they paid for it but for cryin out loud, you got a cheap item for a cheap price. If it works pretty well then GOOD. If not, then go to some other item and spend $150 on that.
If you want a Bose quality piece of equipment, then don't buy the 7, 10, 20 dollar knock off item! If you want an affordable alternative to those ghetto tape deck majiggers that you get from Wally World then get this cool little doohickey.
Now for my review review:
1. As I said, original packing and easy to follow instructions. Not really even needed considering you can plug it up and set it in the cradle.
2. I drive like a maniac so I'd always put my ipod in my passenger seat, and when I take my Mario Andretti turns around the corner WHOOSH -- there goes my ipod off the seat and into the passenger door... CRAP! Well -- no more. The snake arm which seems pretty durable and can actually hold the ipod up keeps it in a safe place and in good view of the driver so I can switch songs.
3. The only questionable device in this thing was the remote. From what I could tell it worked maybe 50% of the time, but I can just as easily reach forward and hit the next button as opposed to keeping track of a remote the size of a Zippo.
4. My favorite part is that it can charge while it plays. as I said before I had the little tape deck thing that only plugged in like a headset and played through the tape deck. It didn't charge my ipod. but this does! pretty cool.
I'd recommend this item if you're looking for a cheap doohickey to play your ipod through. |
